The Lakes surrounding the Windermere Club are a part of an important drainage area called the Lake Apopka Watershed. It actually comprises 80 lakes and 3 rivers. These Lakes and the Butler Chain drain south into the Cypress Creek drainage basin and on to the Everglades.
